Laconia, N.H. — Laconia Motorcycle Week is set to celebrate its 100-year milestone from June 10-18, 2023, offering a diverse schedule of activities, competitions, and scenic rides for motorcycle enthusiasts. The centennial gathering pays tribute to the long-standing tradition and enduring bond between riders, residents, and businesses in New Hampshire.
The rally’s origins date back to 1916 when it began as a gypsy tour, earning Laconia the title of the World’s Oldest Motorcycle Rally®. Over the years, this large motorcycle event has evolved into a world-class gathering, attracting attendees from across the United States and beyond.
The Laconia Daily Sun reports that the Laconia Rotary is commemorating the 100th anniversary of Laconia Motorcycle Week by giving attendees the chance to win a brand new Harley-Davidson. The annual charity raffle winner will go home with a 2023 Harley-Davidson FLTRX Road Glide valued at $28,792.
In addition to the raffle, the 2023 Laconia Motorcycle Week schedule includes an array of exciting events and competitions.
One of the highlights is the Top Cop for Kids Motorcycle Skills Challenge, which benefits the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities. Taking place at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) on June 10-11, the skill-based competition invites regional police officers and non-police riders to showcase their abilities on two wheels while supporting local children in need. Registration is $50 for the timed challenge and $10 for the fun course, open to all licensed motorcycle riders.
Another thrilling event at NHMS is the USCRA FIM North American Vintage Championships & Harley vs. Indian Wars on June 10-11. Attendees can witness vintage racing action at speeds exceeding 130 mph, rain or shine.
The 17th Annual Peter Makris Memorial Ride, taking place on June 10, begins at the Naswa Resort with registration opening at 8 am. This New Hampshire State Police-escorted ride around Lake Winnipesaukee returns to the Naswa for lunch and afternoon entertainment. The event supports the Easter Seals NH Veterans Count Program, Laconia Fire Department’s Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), and “Building Dreams for Marines.”
