Minneapolis, MN – Polaris Inc., a leader in powersports and parent company of Indian Motorcycle, has announced its partnership with International Female Ride Day (IFRD) to emphasize the importance of women riders in the industry and encourage their participation. On Saturday, May 6, women riders of all skill levels are invited to “Just Ride” and share their experiences using the hashtag #IFRD2023.
The partnership comes as a part of the larger Women Riders Month, which is celebrated throughout May, aiming to increase awareness of women’s roles in the powersports world and inspire more women to join the industry.
IFRD aims to showcase the diversity of women engaged in powersports, from off-road vehicles and motorcycles to boats and more. Polaris will be hosting group rides, dealer events, and demo rides across the U.S. and worldwide to empower and recognize women riders.
The number of women participating in powersports has grown nearly 10% over the last five years, according to Polaris. The company is committed to ensuring that they feel included and welcomed in the industry. In addition to partnering with IFRD, Polaris is launching its most expansive women ridership survey to date, aiming to gather insights and elevate women’s voices in the industry.
To participate in IFRD, riders can join local events at over 300 Polaris and Indian Motorcycle dealers in the United States and Canada. They can also share their motorcycle adventure stories and photos on social media using the hashtags #IFRD2023, #FocusFemaleForward, and #internationalfemalerideday.
Women Riders Month is a crucial time to celebrate the history and accomplishments of women in the powersports industry and encourage more women to get involved. As Polaris continues to support initiatives like IFRD and Women Riders Month, the company hopes to create a more inclusive and diverse environment for all powersports enthusiasts.
