Sturgis, SD — Motorcycle enthusiasts, get ready for the thundering sound of engines as the 83rd Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally returns from August 4 to August 13, 2023, in Sturgis, South Dakota. Known as one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the world, the event has a rich history dating back to 1938, when it was initially held for stunts and races by a group of Indian Motorcycle riders.
In recent years, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally has attracted around 500,000 attendees, with a record-breaking attendance of over 700,000 in 2015. The 10-day event generates approximately $800 million in annual revenue, making it a significant contributor to the local economy.
The rally will kick off with the Opening Ceremony parade on August 4, featuring Sturgis Mayor Mark Carstensen, Grand Marshal Laura Klock, and other dignitaries. Meanwhile, the Sturgis Buffalo Chip Campground will host a 10-day concert series, featuring rock legends Styx and REO Speedwagon on August 8, southern rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd on August 6, and nu-metal pioneers Limp Bizkit making their Sturgis Rally debut on August 7, following a performance by Lita Ford.
